I love having a federal badge (no, not like a big metal star, but it does ID me as being with an agency). It's a pathetic reminder of what a small person I am, but I love walking into guarded buildings and just flashing my badge and walking straight through security. I get a little rush from it. It makes me feel important even when I have no idea what's going on.
I also really like reading sealed records. I imagine that the novelty will eventually wear off, but I'm enjoying it for now. Sure, it's all perfectly above-board, and I actually need to get into places and read the documents that I have access to, but I can't help but feel a little special.
What does it say about me that I need this sort of validation?
